Home / Uncategorised / Walkington 1st Scout group taking on the challenge of Snowdonia!
Well done to the 1ST Walkington Scout Group who successfully climbed Snowdon in cold, wet and blustery conditions. orve+wrap came into it's own warming two of the troop and offering assistance to a lady who they came across on the descent. She had an open fracture to her knee and was in a hypothermic state. They wrapped her in the orve+wrap which made her feel warmer and more comfortable almost immediately. One of the troop commented "I thought the blanket was very good because it made me a lot warmer. It was hard to fit two people under the blanket. When the wind was blowing at the top of Snowden the orve+wrap stopped the wind and therefore made me warmer. On the way down the mountain it came into action. A woman had injured her leg and had a foil blanket that was not very good, so Bosun gave her ours and she said it helped. Elizabeth said "It was really warm and cosy, it heated me up really fast." Congratulations to you all on completing your challenge in difficult conditions and well done for helping other injured climbers.
